Astro Tips January 2020 Happy New Year!

Astro Tips by Linda Sprague

Happy New Year!  We welcome in this new decade with anticipation.  The Sun is in Capricorn. Jupiter is in Capricorn.

Saturn is in Capricorn. Pluto is in Capricorn.  If you were born under the sign of Capricorn, you probably know that this energy is earthy and serious. It gravitates to rocks and dark earthy colors.  Capricorn wears a dark suit, is careful and ambitious. Capricorn often gets the promotion and proceeds to get the job done nicely.  Capricorn says, be methodical and preserve. Be like the mountain goat and stand in one place until it is time to climb up a little higher. Of course Capricorn does rule government, corporations, organizations, protocol, rules and regulations, and the Father principle. Planet Saturn rules Capricorn and, again, Saturn is currently transiting Capricorn. This should be good. Saturn is comfortable in the sign it rules. Saturn promotes being realistic and practical.  We must be realistic about how we are managing our lives here in the earth plane. But Pluto is also with Saturn. Not easy.  Saturn is struggling to hold on to its traditional ways of doing things. Saturn relies on precedence to get the job done. Pluto is the destroyer! Pluto is putting our Saturnian ways through a meat grinder. Our legal system seems to crumble under the Joker’s smile. Even our Constitution is ignored while Pluto throws our cherished beliefs into the mud. Out of this drama something new will emerge. Something new will grow from the mud, from the chaos and destruction.

Jupiter has joined Capricorn on the stage. Jupiter is expansive and optimistic. However, Capricorn can be like a wet blanket, so Jupiter is not especially jolly in the sign of Capricorn. Keep in mind that a planet takes on the attributes of the sign it is visiting. Jupiter spends one year in each astrological sign. What can we expect with Jupiter in Capricorn?  Perhaps Jupiter has come along just in time to ensure the preservation of law and order. Jupiter rules THE LAW.  Jupiter belongs to the ninth house of the horoscope.  This house has domain over the higher mind and the beliefs that we live by. If we want to continue believing that greed is the new T-shirt, I guess we can. But Jupiter in Capricorn would frown on that. Jupiter amplifies whatever it touches. If it touches Capricorn it will make Capricorn issues bigger. Issues like being pragmatic, following the rules that work here on planet earth—cause and effect.  Capricorn is the sign that tells us to be responsible and do the right thing.

On January 7, Saturn and Pluto will line up together at 22 degrees of Capricorn. This is called a conjunction.  Everything that has been happening for the past couple of years is in the spotlight. Hopefully the Pluto-Saturn conjunction will bring some reasonable agreements on touchy subjects in the very near future.  Shortly after this conjunction—the reality and tradition of Saturn and the profound transformation of Pluto--we have a Lunar Eclipse in Cancer (the sign opposite Capricorn).  Here’s hoping there will be some resolution to many problems that have been facing us. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse might uncover information that helps brings solutions to longstanding situations.

Remember, Capricorn is an earth sign. When it comes to climate change, we could be more realistic about what needs to be done to help Mother Earth. Capricorn is the responsible parent. We could be more mature in our understanding and actions.  If we avoid being grown-ups, we remain unconscious and dependent on some authority figure to tell us what is right.  We remain more vulnerable than we should be.

The New Year starts off big with Capricorn. Because earth signs do not move fast, we cannot expect a lot of rapid action.  We might feel frustrated but we need to remember that Capricorn is doing its job.  One step at a time.

Each of us has a life story that is unfolding. Each of us has messy Pluto stuff going on somewhere. All this Capricorn energy requires every ounce of maturity we have.  Remember, we can think it faster than we can do it. Walking through the Earth plane is slower than thinking our way through it.  Patience! Use common sense.  Be the grown-up in the room and you will hopefully get your prize!

Here are words of guidance for a new decade. They come from The Upanishads, wisdom that emerged in India thousands of years ago:

“Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

Welcome to 2020! Happy New Year!

Astro Tips: December Full Moon 2019

Astro Tips
Full Moon in Gemini
December 12, 2019

Full Moon 19 degrees of Gemini
December 12, 2019

A few days ago I was snooping around the web looking at information about the astrology of December and the full moon. I clicked on a short video by astrologist Gregory Scott. He reminded his viewers to avoid getting bombarded and overwhelmed during this full moon in Gemini. Too Much Information. Gemini is the sign of curiosity and data gathering. We are certainly bombarded with information right now. The Sun is in Sagittarius, the sign we associate with the search for truth.  The only truth these days is the variety of interpretations that surrounds the data.  People have different versions of truth.

Mr. Scott also suggested that we look at the symbol for Gemini and see it as a doorway.  Gemini is associated with the twins, but when you look at the symbol of Gemini (two vertical lines with horizontal lines crossing at the top and bottom, fact is, it could be a doorway.  Thanks to times we live in, we are offered any number of doorways to explore or walk through to gather information and make our truth.  Prior to Cable TV and its smorgasbord of information, the 6 o’clock news was the news.  There were a few doorways to open, but they all had the same information. Now cable news presenters express opinions or interpretations of news. Truth has become relative, at least in the political and social arenas.

The full moon in Gemini on December 12 does give us another doorway to walk through. In December, our Sun, the Star of our Solar System, lines up with the Galactic Center, that is, the center of our Milky Way Galaxy.  We can imagine that we are lining up with the number one energy source from the Milky Way and receive higher truth. Maybe we won’t receive the truth in language. Maybe it will come as light rays, sounds vibrations, or feelings of love.  In northern hemispheres there is a ray of blue light this time of year.  I believe it is associated with this energy pouring out of the Galactic Center. It touches us deeply if we allow it to. The energy is that of love, of course. We have one word for this huge, expansive energy and that word is love.  Whatever we are feeling--grief or happiness--the bigger energy is love. That’s the bottom line truth.  Every December we are invited to connect with Big Love, the glue of life.

Meanwhile, back on the physical plane of existence………we are stepping through this full moon doorway into 2020.  The study of Astrology suggests that 2019 has been the time of planning and preparation for 2020. Why is 2020 so big?  Well, finally Saturn and Pluto will form their exact conjunction. During 2019 we have been living this energy of chaos and apprehension about the coming changes in civilization. Now we seek resolution to the tension we have been holding for a long time.

On December 2 the planet, Jupiter, moved from optimistic, mind-expanding Sagittarius, to Capricorn—practical, earth-bound, problem solving, grown-up Capricorn. Jupiter prefers the enthusiasm of fire signs to the solid, slow earthy energy of Capricorn. However, Capricorn is a cardinal or moveable sign. Jupiter in Capricorn will help us move along in finding resolutions to the problems we are facing.

Jupiter has joined planets Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.  The south node is also in Capricorn. And during this full moon in December, Venus is also in Capricorn. That is a lot of earth energy.  Earth energy is slow energy, compared to the transmission of energy through air and fire. We go through earth steps - steps that require physical body energy - to get where we need to be. We are seriously looking at what we are committed to and what we are leaving behind.

As Jupiter travels through the sign of Capricorn until December of 2020, we can expect to grow and expand in our understanding of how things work in daily life. Remember, Jupiter tends to make bigger whatever it touches. In Capricorn it touches reality.  Saturn is the planetary ruler of Capricorn.  Together Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn give us the message to grow up.  If there is some area where we are not behaving like a grown-up, then Jupiter will let us know in a very big way. With Capricorn sitting so enormous on the horizon, it is wise to ask yourself if there is some area of life where you could be more responsible and mature. Think about it.  The symbol for Capricorn is the sure-footed mountain goat.  We have our goals, our mountains to climb. All the planets in Capricorn will help us be sure-footed.

For now and for some months ahead, Capricorn is calling the shots. We are asked to be hardworking, confident and sincerely committed to our endeavors. Capricorn is somber. The palette for Capricorn is brown, steel gray, and black.  Capricorn is tradition and it is the book of rules.  Even through the Sun is traveling through Sagittarius until the Winter Solstice on December 21st, we are caught in the seriousness of Capricorn energy. We want to feel safe and secure, but the shadow side of Capricorn is fear and greed.  It’s hard to make changes if we are fearful and it's hard to change without investing some of our resources. We cannot hoard or hold on too tight. Capricorn and its ruler, Saturn, have domain over maturity and aging. With aging hopefully comes wisdom. In the natural order of things, leaders become leaders because they have worked hard, they have the skills and they have earned the respect of peers.  Maybe all the Capricorn energy suggests that we will have a gray haired or white haired candidate for President in 2020.

And by the way, we have a Solar Eclipse the day after Christmas! We just can’t avoid facing practical matters and responsibilities during the next months. The mountain goat makes the climb look easy.  I will study the mountain goat. They pause to rest and regain balance and footing before taking the next step. Sometimes they stay still for long periods of time and then gracefully scramble up the mountain.

Astro Tips New Moon in Scorpio

Astro Tips for the New Moon in Scorpio.

I'm Linda and I am born under the sign of Scorpio. Intensity cannot be avoided if you are a Scorpio. The chase for intimacy that is divinely connective cannot be avoided if you are a Scorpio. Likewise transformation. No way to avoid loss, transformation and evolution if you are alive. If you didn't know these things already, you do now. The New Moon in Scorpio (conjunct the Sun in Scorpio) exactly opposed planet Uranus at 4 degrees of Taurus on Sunday October 27. This aspect brought intense shock after shock . . . fires in California, battles in Washington DC over impeachment of the President of the United States, and intense rage and hate in our collective body. Uranus brings the unexpected and those events are often life changing.

If you don't live in California, say some words of thanks, and send whatever good energy you can to our fellow humans who are enduring fear and loss in that beautiful state. If we are disturbed by the toxicity of our collective environment, what do we do? Someone suggested this mantra: I forgive my fellow humans for not being who I thought they should be.

Perhaps shock has awakened your psyche and there is no turning back. What new awareness has visited you in the past few days? Are you living your life, or someone else's? Perhaps you will get a glimpse of your true passion as Scorpio Sun makes it way through the heavens.

Uranus is an awakener. What truth are we waking up to? Scorpio teaches us to search for meaning by stepping into the mystery of life. Uranus is slapping us around so we can engage with our own mysteries. Uranus is about our individuation and our unique ways of being brilliant. If we can be brilliant without getting a big head, things go well. If big head takes over, we step into a dirty river and no good comes from anything.

Take this New Moon seriously. Find your unique talents. Be proud and loving of your smartness and your integrity. Don't be afraid to be intense. Don't run from the awakener. Go ahead, transform, don't be afraid.

Does this all sound very dramatic?  Scorpio cannot avoid being dramatic.

Astro Tips: Full Moon in Pisces September 13, 14 2019

Full Moon in Pisces
September 13-14, 2019
By Linda Sprague

Summary:  Nothing is stable and we feel the lack of steadiness. Lack of stability seems to grow bigger everyday.  Grave Karma.

Do not be dismayed by the brokenness
Of the world
All things break And
All things can be mended
Not with time as they say
But with intention
So go. Love intentionally,
Extravagantly,
Unconditionally
The broken world waits in darkness
For the light that is you.

            L R Knost

Depending on where you live, the full moon will be exact either late Friday night on the 13th or just after midnight on  the 14th.   Here are a few interesting things to contemplate about this Harvest Moon just prior to the Autumnal Equinox on September 23.

The Full Moon in Pisces is sitting with Neptune in Pisces.  When the Moon and Neptune are united in a birth chart, there is the suggestion that the person has sensitive, empathic, intuitive, psychic, spiritual, abilities.  In ancient times, this would be the signature of the seer, and the interpreter of omens.  The period between Thursday the 12th through Sunday the 15th gives us an open door to other dimensions, frequencies and realms of existence.  It’s terrific for meditation, spiritual studies, artistic work, sound healing, significant dreams, psychic investigations and musical inspiration.  This is a beautiful period.  Or we can just go crazy! Maybe we bump into a bad core issue and can’t get out of the room.  Maybe we get paranoid or crazy for a few hours.  Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, the room that holds everything in all its beauty, horror, complexity and confusion.  All signs have complexity.  With this full moon, planets in Virgo (Sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury) keep us mentally grounded, for the most part. Call on your Virgo analytical skills to help with balance.

Another interesting thing about the full moon in Pisces is how it makes a direct confrontation with Mars in Virgo. This makes us sensitive and maybe anger.  It might be hard to be objective during this full moon time—again remember you have the ability to analyze situations. The moon also opposes or confronts Venus in Virgo.  Loving kindness from family and friends can soften whatever troubles we stumble into right now.

The next thing to understand about this full moon is this; everything is exaggerated! Jupiter sits in a T-cross, a stressful aspect, with the full moon, the Sun, Mars and Neptune.  Ego is big, emotions are big, anger is big, Neptune (our personal illusion-our self undoing!) is big.   This energy has been going on for a few weeks and continues through the second week of October. We promise more than we can deliver. Others do the same.  It’s a time to be careful when you making big purchases.  Read the fine print.  Check out all legalities before closing the deal. Be careful about falling for a sales pitch. People want to do more than might be possible.  I don’t know about you, but I am frustrated that my Jupiter goals are not all attainable in one day!  That’s the exaggeration.  There is a big gift in this full moon period with Jupiter in a strong T-cross:  this is a time when we truly can get some clarity about our goals.  We can get in touch with our specialness and feel strongly motivated to accomplish our mission!  This is good.  Don’t be afraid to allow your soul, your ego, and your mind to expand and exaggerate your abilities.  From that inner vision some fabulous reality will unfold.  This is big kick-off energy to be who you are.

Then there is the collective, the matters of the world.  What does this full moon reveal about the big picture? As I mentioned above, a lot of our social structures and collective beliefs feel unstable and critical.   And, of course a lot of things seem very grim. It’s hard to make lemonade out of the elimination of clean water regulations, for example.  There is zero lemonade to be had when the Amazon rain forest is burning.

The South Node of the Moon is sitting tightly with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.  I’m calling this aspect, grave karma. It is collective karma.  We are all involved. We are all responsible.  We need to contemplate what we can do to help resolve this massive karma that is affecting humanity, all sentient beings and our planet.  It takes more than blaming others, although that is so tempting.

The nodal axis takes eighteen years to make its way around the zodiac.  This same nodal energy was present for September 11, 2001.  The current transit of the nodes in Cancer and Capricorn is an invitation to have a new vision for resolving problems on our planet. It won’t happen overnight, but new energy and beliefs can be put in place using vision, intention, action and faith and common sense! It is amazing how far we have drifted from simple, common sense.  The job does feel big and overwhelming. Everyone’s job is different. The alternative is to fall into hopelessness and despair, to neglect our own healing, or to refuse to transform from the inside out.  Read Knost’s poem one more time:  The broken world waits in darkness/for the light that is you.

Astro Tips Full Moon in Sagittarius June 17, 2019

Mental health is a commitment to reality

Scott Peck, psychiatrist and author of  The Road Less Traveled, wrote another book,  People of the Lie (1983).  Peck’s book had a profound effect on my thinking and on my trauma recovery practice that began around 1990.  The fundamental message of his book is this:  mental health is a commitment to reality.  I feel pretty certain that statement is a direct quote but I don’t have the book in front of me to check that out.  There are people who seek reality and truth and there are people who turn off the lights and live in dark rooms of confusion and untruth. They are motivated solely by self-interest and self-preservation. Currently we are being lead and governed by many people of the lie.  This full moon period gives us another chance to wake up and shake the reality tree. The signals are clear that we must commit to reality in order to stay health individually and collectively.

The Full Moon is in Sagittarius. The underlying motivation of Sagittarius is the search for truth. We reach that truth by using the energy of Gemini and Mercury. We are curious. Curiosity leads to openness, research and the accumulation of enough information to finally have the sense that we have reached some degree of truth, upon which we can make decisions. It is difficult to get anywhere on the truth train when people of the lie are in charge of the data and the dissemination of information.

Neptune has strange ways of teaching us what is real.

The Sun is traveling through Gemini and the Moon is full in Sagittarius. One would think that everyone would be jumping up and down to find some truth during this full moon.  And many people are doing just that.  But Neptune blurs the boundary between truth and non-truth. On the one hand, Neptune shows us that everything is good and with time everything will be ok. We long for perfection and believe eventually we will get it. On the other hand, Neptune drags us into a hall of distorted mirrors and contradictions.  During this full moon period, Neptune sits like a neon sign in between the Sun and Moon.  Neptune is either inviting us to stay content in our little make-believe world or it is signaling us to reach beyond illusion and find some truth. Neptune says there is more going on here than you realize. Neptune says the masses, (and that means all of us) are confused and living in a cloud of illusion. I do not propose that I know what the absolute truth is or where we are in our search for truth.

We accept darkness and we welcome the light.

Here’s one possibility though. Truth is a process.  Mental health is a process of committing oneself to reality. Likewise the search for truth. The accumulation of information and experience takes us on a journey to uncover what we can of our inner and outer truth.  To journey into truth requires that we stop lying to our self. We give up our addictions. We stop believing someone will save us from our self. We stop living in a belief system that has no open doorways. We DO seek exit signs to take us beyond of our denial and confusion. We accept our darkness and we are grateful for all the light we can get.

Neptune means compassion for all sentient beings.
What is happening is this: the inside is turned inside out for everything to be revealed.

This full moon is yet another chapter in the ongoing essay of facing reality.  Our collective situation grows graver and graver. Every individual is asked to face reality.  We are asked to integrate Saturnian common sense with our Neptunian spirituality.  If the spiritual world cuts us off from reality too much, then we may never clean up the oceans. If spirituality cuts us off from compassion for the living, then we are headed for a twisted social order.  What we face as a collective is the outer manifestation of what is held inside the collective. What is happening in our world is just the inside of us has been turned inside out.  We see the messiness now: a world of lies, deceit, mean-spiritedness and manipulation on a massive scale. The lessons of the past are distorted. The drive for greed overrides the desire to face the bigger realities: like we are one, there is enough for everybody, we are citizens of a universe.  These bigger realities are held in Neptune’s fog and we have to use a different kind of sight to see them.  Scott Peck advises in his book to be aware that there are people incapable of looking at their own darkness, people who can never admit they are responsible for something. They cannot even see the relationship between themselves and what is happening around them. There are people of the lie.  They are trapped in their fear and their willful drive to be in control. Their life strategy is to be in control of others in order to survive. We cannot surrender to living in a world of lies.

We can hope that Frodo is on his way to toss the gold ring into the blazing volcano so these control freaks don’t take over. Or, we can realize that we must go together to throw the ring into the fire. There is plenty of room for leaders and heroes. But this is a collective march to make sure that the people of the lie do not have their way.

We’ve been here before.  How can we do it differently?

In addition to this powerful full moon, some astrologers consider June 18th the most difficult day of 2019.  Just after the full moon we face a strong roadblock with Saturn, Pluto, the Moon and the south node (all in Capricorn) in a stand off with the Sun still in Gemini and Mercury, Mars and the north node all in Cancer.  The nodes can be indicators of the past and the future. We have been here before. People of the lie have always been among us. How can we make different decisions? If we get through this week without finding our country in a war with Iran, can we rest a little easier?  Hopefully wisdom will prevail and leaders will breathe and reflect and remember that we have been here before. How can we do it differently?

Same is true in our individual lives. Look around yourself and inside yourself. What truth about your life journey do you see? Is this the reality you want? Are you pretending (that would be Neptune)?  Are you going with the crowd just to belong (that would be Saturn).  Are you suggesting a revolution or change (that would be Uranus?  Just something to think about.

Despite “the heavy” this is a time of enthusiasm, optimism and hope. For many people, a new life is unfolding and Neptune is showing the way.

Jupiter rules the sign of Sagittarius, the full moon.  There is enthusiasm, optimism and hope this month. This Full Moon period has happiness and enlightenment.  The Sun is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury.  Water planets have been making happy trines in the sky. We are asked to use our mind and all we know to help us stay grounded in reality, while we move on to a new place.

Then quickly we move from full moon to a strong dose of Capricorn:  Saturn and Pluto and the Moon and the south node. Capricorn rules governments and banking and big corporate entities.  All of them want to keep the status quo. They want to stay in control. They will use any Plutonian means to stay in control of the Plutonian wealth they have acquired.  This is NOT true of all corporations, wealthy individuals or all members of government.

Then we have the Summer Solstice on Friday June 21. The longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere allows us to bask in the light. The Sun enters Cancer and moves us into warmth, comfort and growth. Needless to say we are living in powerful times.  I will stop before xaplanets.  As this Inuit Song announces: “there is only one great thing….to live to see in huts and on journeys, the great day that dawns and light that fills the world.” Happy Summer Solstice!

         INUIT SONG:
         And I thought over again
         My small adventures
As with a shore-wind I drifted out in my kayak
And thought I was in danger.

         My fear,
         Those small ones
         That I thought so big-
         For all the vital things
I had to get and to reach.

And yet, there is only one great thing.
         The only thing:
To live to see in huts and on journeys
         The great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

Astro Tips for March 20 2019 Full Moon

Happy Vernal Equinox and Full Moon in VIrgo. Moon is connected with the Sun in Pisces, Mercury retrograde in Pisces, and Neptune in Pisces. Wow. Neptune is the planet that rules Pisces. We have lots of blurry, foggy energy to deal with. For some of us this takes the form of fatigue. Don't hesitate to take naps. Escape into movies, not drugs. meditate or take a walk and celebrate nature. Virgo Moon brings some left brain clarity after days of weird inner thoughts and feelings. Am I crazy? Virgo says NO you are not. Just relax and connect with your brain cells. I keep losing things in the house. What about you? Mercury retrograde in Pisces. Dreamy. Remember Neptune tends to dissolve what it touches. In this case, it's the BRAIN and communication. Boundaries are a serious issue. We are one and we are all connected but we are each an individual person. Keep that in mind. Watch out for manipulation in the news and from other people as well. Don't fall for sales pitch. Easy time to buy without thinking it through. Think it through. It's all good. We are on our way to rebirth and renewal. Say yes to that!

Astro Tips. New Moon in Pisces March 6, 2019

New Moon in Pisces. March 6, 2019

Planet Neptune is featured in the New Moon event.  Neptune tends to dissolve what it touches.

Hold on to your Ego!  The New Moon in Pisces this week , on March 6, was sitting beautifully with the Sun and Neptune. Neptune tends to dissolve whatever it touches.  The ego, the mind, the body, the truth, your energy, and your motivation may get softened, blurred, diminished or weakened by Neptune’s touch.  The Sun/Neptune togetherness has continued throughout the week. Big yawn. The Sun and Neptune together is great for a silent retreat, yin yoga, long naps, movies, petting your cat and most anything that doesn’t require super expenditure of energy. Neptune tends to dissolve what it touches.  The Sun is our vital energy and also our conscious ego (who we think we are).  Neptune and Sun joining together can bring confusion, self-doubt (about that ego), and diminished energy. Take note please that this period is short for most of us.  Please don’t blame Neptune for being totally lazy. The people most affected by this New Moon in Pisces with a big hit of Neptune are those affected by Pisces and Neptune.  Born under the sign of Pisces or you have Pisces as rising sign or you have the Moon in Pisces? You are seriously affected by this New Moon.  Especially people born this first week of March need to see this as a time to slow down and not over commit.  These folks need extra rest.  People who are under big Neptune transits also need rest.

Is Neptune transiting Pisces testing us, putting us through a collective initiation about truth and reality?

Neptune and Sun together also brings confusion in our society. What is the truth, for crying out loud???? Neptune seems to connect us with mass hysteria and drinking some odd kool-aide. Perhaps we could do our own research on news flashes if they seem outrageous.  Neptune rules trends, like fashion and popular TV shows. Unfortunately Neptune is beginning to affect the collective political climate in an extreme manner.  We are living in a reality-show world. I’m sure there is something super important to be learned from this.  Neptune teaches us compassion. We experience continual updates about the suffering of humanity and all sentient beings and this gives us opportunity to stretch and have compassion for things beyond our domicile and neighborhoods. In addition, Neptune teaches us to discern reality from deception and sabotage.  Is this a test?  Is Neptune transiting Pisces testing us, putting us through a collective initiation about truth and reality?

Neptune and Pisces are embedded in the 12th house of the zodiac.  The 12the house is mysterious. It is full of everything. This earth plane and all its institutional hallways are included in the 12th house of the zodiac. People get lost in hallway corridors and sometimes open the wrong door. Other Neptunian departments of the 12th house are: dreamtime, other dimensions of reality, the cosmos, sound currents from the Universe, sacred geometry, the Divine and LUNACY.  It’s no wonder we have a complicated existence.  No wonder we want to escape with alcohol, TV and religions that give us a pat answer to everything.  The 12th house is a lot of take on. This New Moon in March is full of 12th house, Neptunian, topics.

Higher Truth Requires Humility

Right now with Neptune and Sun (the solar energy that feeds us and keeps us alive) traveling together in the sky, we have an opportunity to explore our own complexity. Think about how you escape to make things simple. Our country wants to escape the complexity of oneness by building a wall. Will that work? How can we embrace the bigger, awesome panorama of existence?  Remember:  As above, so below (Hermes Trismogistus) and Everything is connected, the web is holy (Marcus Aurelius). Higher truth requires humility and this is something the ego struggles with. Hold on to your ego. Ego is a good thing but it needs to safely expand to understand the self in relationship to everything else.  This requires that we be open to the fullness of experiences, rather than closed off by mental beliefs.   By Linda Sprague

Astro Tips Lunar Eclipse January 20/21, 2018

Lunar Eclipse
January 20/21, 2019

The Lunar Eclipse is occurring in the Sign Leo at zero degrees Leo. Of course the Full Moon in Leo opposes the Sun in Aquarius.  The Sun is joined with Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn, along with Saturn in Capricorn.  Planet Uranus is making a challenging connection to the Lunar Eclipse at 28 degrees of Aries.

Uranus can bring sudden upsets or surprises, and sometimes they are life changing. This Eclipse could bring significant changes for many people. Since eclipses start before the actual day and continue for months after the eclipse date, we can look to humanity and the government shutdown as the big upset that is life changing for hundreds of thousands of people.  Leo (where the moon is) rules the individual while Aquarius (where the Sun is) rules humanity.  Capricorn, where Mercury, Pluto and Saturn are currently sitting, rules the government.

One more tip:  Uranus belongs to the sign of Aquarius.  Therefore this eclipse is associated with disruption for the people and the cause is the government. If you are not a government employee affected by the shutdown, count your blessings. Think about how long this shut down will impact the employees.  You and I both know that once you get behind it’s really hard to catch up. Even if you get a big check down the line, it’s already committed. It’s not a good solution for our country and it is affecting the economy across the board.

And that brings us to where the eclipse is actually occurring:  Leo, the individual and Aquarius, humanity.  How do we balance our individuality with other people? This is a good time to ask yourself:  what are my talents and gifts that I can share with other people to make a better place here on Earth?  How can I share from my heart and soul without getting totally carried away by my ego and my desire to out-do everyone else?  How can I balance my desire to share and receive attention and abundance in a way that is in accordance with the good for all? Right now, in our government, there is an abundance of individual ego battling the suffering of humanity.

Maybe this energy will help us envision what we want for ourselves in a way that also envisions goodness for others AND the elimination of unnecessary suffering. We will always have suffering, illness, and loss. That is part of life. But some suffering, like the government shutdown causing trauma and distress for so many . . . is that necessary suffering?  Of course we need to look at our own consciousness.  Any government is a reflection of the people.  Who are we and what can we do as individuals to make it different?  Things to think about as we gaze at that beautiful eclipse!
